SHALIMAR- FIT FOR A PRINCESS PUNGENCE
A PRINCESS ought never to hear the words, YOU SMELL, unless the next word out of that person’s palate is ‘FABULOUS!” As a princess, I am constantly on the lookout for a fragrance that cries the “essence of me,” but doesn’t make others weep. I found that fragrance a long time ago, in Shalimar.

Lush, lingering notes tame the siren’s undercurrent of wildness with a girlish, powdery puff of vanilla. The suspicion of citrus turns the nose up just the right amount, but not enough to be a snob. All in all, smells JUST LIKE A PRINCESS.
This is exotic stuff, characterized as an ORIENTAL AMBER, which was a wildly popular fragrance fling in 1925 when it was created.

Shalimar is undeniably a REGAL FRAGRANCE IF EVER THERE WAS ONE. Jacuques Guerlain, from the classic house of perfumery, created it in 1925. He was inspired by the legendary love story between the PRINCE Khurram (later Emperor) and his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal, which means “Jewel of the PALACE.” He was smitten by his magnificent wife his whole life; what wife doesn’t want to smite her husband? He built the TAJ for his gorgeous PRINCESS (then Queen) when she died, assuredly as recompense for that junket to A.C. she never got to do on her bucket list before she kicked it; no one’s ever TRUMP’d it . Shalimar is named after “The Garden’s of Shalimar,” the PRINCESS’S favorite garden.
As a princess, I name it and claim it with:
“PRINCESS DIANE VON BRAINISFRIED’S FIT FOR A PRINCESS STAMP OF SAY-SO.” Other perfumes fit for a princess to follow.
